February 2022 Spending, Savings, and Net Worth Update

Spending

CategoryAmountNotes
Eating out£39Tried the Tony Macaroni restaurant for the first time – the food and service were excellent, and I went to a comedy gig afterwards (ticket bought a few months earlier). Also got Dr Noodles delivered while at a poker night at a friend’s flat. Thankfully we were only playing for plastic tokens otherwise it would have been a very expensive night.
Entertainment (fun money, Spotify, TV licence, the lottery) £90.12Two lottery tickets (no wins); a ticket to an away football match not covered by my season ticket; a few drinks on nights out; Latin dance classes; and a ticket for a band called Morganway, supported by Kezia Gill.
Groceries£102.76Budget of £40/week = £160 for the month.
Health£59.99CrossFit (2 x week membership) £40, PureGym (unlimited) £19.99.
Holidays£393.13A week in sunny Spain
Housing (mortgage, utility bills, broadband, council tax, window cleaning etc.)£570.1Mortgage, gas and electric, broadband, window cleaning. No council tax this month.
Mobile phone£6.95Lebara SIM only deal.
Personal£10Hair cut.
Presents£5Contribution to colleague’s birthday present.
Shopping49pShort-term Amazon Prime membership.
Transport£188.19£130 vehicle excise duty (VED – AKA road tax), and petrol
Total£1,465.73A fairly expensive month, but that included a week in Spain and the annual VED for my car. I think that’s pretty good when you consider the week of fun in the sun.

A small increase compared to last month when I factor in my mortgage payment and pension contribution, but a decrease when these are stripped out. This was again mainly a drop in the value of my Vanguard account.
